Nest hexagonal ceramic tiles on any panel outline
Tile Nesting places hexagonal ceramic tiles, full and half pieces, inside the closed outline of a panel loaded from DXF, keeping a fixed gap between pieces and the margins you set. A free-nesting mode also packs arbitrary figures in exact quantities.
Tile Nesting at a glance
| You provide | DXF with a closed polyline, or pasted coordinates |

How it works
- Load the panel outline or outlines and set the sheets to manufacture.
- Set the piece geometry and the margins against the outline.
- Generate the nesting for all included figures.
- Review, remove or redistribute pieces, then export.
Frequently asked questions
Which DXF entities are read?
The closed polyline (LWPOLYLINE or POLYLINE) with the largest area in each file. Arcs and bulges are approximated as straight segments.
Can I change the gap between tiles?
For periodic pieces the gap between edges follows a fixed factory rule (1.7026 mm). Free nesting has its own gap and margin inputs.
Does it guarantee the optimal packing?
Periodic mode searches grid phases to maximize the piece count. Free nesting uses a bottom-left-fill heuristic that does not guarantee the optimum.
