Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026. This explains what MechLAB stores about you and why.

What we store

• Account: your username and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
• Usage: which tool you ran, when and how many tokens it cost, plus your token history and your requests for more tokens.
• Your work: the files, inputs and results of your analyses, kept on our server.
• Contact messages: the name, email and text you send, and the IP address used to limit abuse.
• Cookies: one session cookie to keep you signed in and one to remember your language. Public pages may also count visits with Google Analytics.

How long we keep it

Files from your analyses stay on our server until we delete them. Ticking "save this calculation" only adds it to your My calculations list; it does not change how long files are kept. We do not delete files automatically yet. You can ask us to delete your account and files at any time.

Who can see it

Other users cannot see your data. The people who operate MechLAB can technically access stored data; we use that access only to give you the support you ask for, keep the service secure and fix errors. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Service providers

We use a hosting provider to run the service and store data, and a content delivery network in front of it. We keep periodic backups of our database, which may contain account data.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data through the Contact page.
